About the Dances of Universal Peace

"Heart to Heart and Hand to Hand"
Lama, New Mexico---July 1998
The dances are a form of "spiritual folk dance" using music and sacred phrases from many world traditions to promote peace and integration within individuals and groups.
Everyone participates. Songs are taught, then sung in the native language of the culture we are honoring. The phrases are short and easy to learn. The dances are done in a circle, using simple folk dance movements. No singing or dancing experience is necessary.
Through music and dance, toward one world, within and without.

Las Vegas Dancers, February 2000
The Dances of Universal Peace are offered in Las Vegas and Pahrump. A number of trained leaders lead the dances, including Oma, David, Holly and Linda.
David offers emails with dance reminders and updates, as well as other opportunities that might be of interest to the dance community. If you would like to receive these emails from David, please send him an email and ask to be on his DUP list.

Dance leaders like Jeanne and Kirsten, and the other people working to become dance leaders, often attend regional workshops to learn new dances and techniques for teaching. The two pictures below are from a dance camp at the Lama Foundation in Santa Fe, New Mexico, July 1998.
